Hunter Pet Leveling Guide

There are tons of pets with 37 families for the Hunter to tame in Azeroth. There are basic ones, and even Exotic hard to find ones. All the pets share the same stats and skill tree within there group.

There are three groups, Ferocity (DPS,) Tenacity (Tanks,) and Cunning (PVP/DPS.)

Now for leveling you would think the (Tank) pets would be the best pets to chose. However its been shown that Ferocity Pets can be a lot more beneficial for leveling, For one reason while you are Beast Mastery it makes Ferocity pets do a ton of DPS, which in return allows for him to provide better aggro while fighting mobs. Aggro or Threat works in two ways, it it built upon using ability’s that generate Threat or someone doing a high amount of DPS. While at lower levels the tank pets might have better durability, but they do not generate a good enough threat to keep the mobs off of you. Since you can heal your pet and while leveling you won’t encounter high level mobs, the Ferocity pet will be just fine, as well as you will kill mobs and level much faster.

Remember you don’t have to pick a ferocity pet, but it would be the better choice.

Now for as to what the best pet to pick, it really doesn’t matter since they all have the same stats. Its really up to which pet you would love to have in the Ferocity tree while you level up, and which one is available to you at level 10. You can also keep the one you are given.
